Local Presence Number Requirements
Due to local regulations, Italian local phone numbers require the end user to be located within the area matching the phone number prefix.
To purchase these numbers, you will need to provide, and keep updated, a valid business or personal address that satisfies the requirement. The address must be the residence or place of business of the individual or entity using the phone number. If you are using the numbers directly, the address should be yours, and if you are reselling the phone numbers, the address should be that of the end user (i.e. your customer).
From December 1st 2017
Mediahawk are required by local Italian regulation to collect and store end-user information for any Italian phone number supplied.
Upon submission, the identity document to Mediahawk we will verify and upload the document and details to our Telecom provider system. They confirm within 48 business hours that the document and data is verified document can be used to purchase any quantity of numbers.
Who is the end user?
If you are using Italian phone numbers directly, the identification should be yours or your company’s, and if you are reselling the phone numbers, the identification should be that of your customer -- either an individual or a company identification.

What do ‘Tax Code’ and ‘VAT’ refer to?
These are unique identifier codes used to identify a person or business for tax purposes.
Individuals, this is an identifier like Social Security Number in the U.S. or National Insurance number in the U.K.
Business, it refers to a unique identifier used by the entity when submitting tax forms, for example, a Value Added Tax number in Europe or EIN in U.S.
Which provision under Italian law changed?
Italy's Ministry of Interior and Data Protection Authority has ordered operators to provide the country's law enforcement authorities with electronic access to end-user data (see Italian Data Protection Authority Policy Opinion, Measure No. 244/2014). To this end, the Italian Department of Public Security's Data Processing Center has created a computerized National Telephone Directory system (ETNA) for authorized law enforcement inquiries.
Do you store my identity document?
We store the uploaded document on our Telecoms Provider system. Mediahawk do not keep a record of the Document.
For some countries, we can delete the uploaded document after we have used it for verification. If you would like us to delete your uploaded document, while keeping the identity record on your account, please contact clientservices@mediahawk.co.uk.
